Duval County Property Appraiser Jim Overton, CFA, recently received the Public Information Award for large jurisdiction from the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) at their 72nd Annual Conference in Milwaukee. This prestigious award is given to assessment jurisdictions that have developed and implemented an effective system for the dissemination to taxpayers of information regarding the assessment process. This program must be fully operational and accomplished within the past two years. Over 50 jurisdictions nationwide competed for this year’s award. There were approximately 775 attendees at this conference. The IAAO is the internationally recognized leader and preeminent source for innovation, education, and research in property appraisal, assessment administration, and property tax policy.
