International Association of Assessing Officers Announces
Lee County, FL Property Appraiser's Office Earns Outstanding Recognition

(Kansas City, Missouri) - The International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) is pleased to announce that the Lee County Property Appraiser's Office, has earned the IAAO Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration. IAAO recognizes governmental units and individuals involved with assessment that integrate best practices in the workplace. This challenging and rigorous program is a self-conducted evaluation of specific, accepted, assessment administration and appraisal practices as defined in the IAAO publication Assessment Practices: Self-Evaluation Guide.

The Lee County Property Appraiser's Office has met or exceeded IAAO defined criteria for best practices in the workplace. They will be recognized in September at the International Conference on Assessment Administration as just the fourth applicant to successfully fulfill all the requirements necessary to demonstrate excellence in assessment administration.

Lee County Property Appraiser, Kenneth Wilkinson, said, "there is no greater compliment than to be judged by your peers for such a prestigious honor. The credit goes to our staff and I accept this honor on their behalf."

Neil F. "Nick" Nikkinen, AAS, received the Assessment Administration Special designation in April 2008. He is serving as the Director of Special Projects for the Hernando County Property Appraiser's Office in Brooksville, Florida. Nick has held that position for three and one half years and previously served as Chief Deputy Property Appraiser and Director of Commercial Properties for Hernando County. He serves as the Director of the IAAO and as Treasurer of the FCIAAO. He has been an IAAO members since 2004.
